The Story behind EWAP's Logo

At EWAP, we wanted a logo that captured the heart of our mission—providing structured, purposeful English education for learners worldwide. We found our answer in the triple horizontal bar symbol, a unique element that not only represents the “E” in EWAP (English With A Purpose) but also carries deep symbolic meaning across various disciplines.

In logic, science, and philosophy, the triple bar signifies equality and equivalence. For us, it reflects our belief that with the right support, every learner can achieve their language goals, regardless of their starting point. The three bars, in dark red, signify purpose and determination, representing the strong foundation we provide to help students build their skills step-by-step, from beginner through to advanced levels.

The “WAP” in dark teal embodies harmony and growth, symbolising EWAP’s commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports learners as they progress with confidence. This colour also reflects the balance and structure we aim to bring to each student’s journey, helping them achieve their goals in a measured, supportive way.

The IELTS Masterclass Preparation Course is an intensive, online-only group training program,
designed not only to provide you with the skills and strategies needed to excel in the IELTS
exam but also encompasses comprehensive individual needs analysis and grammar support.
With a focus on an in-depth understanding of the test format, question types, and scoring criteria,
the course ensures extensive preparation.

1. What is the IELTS Masterclass?

The IELTS Masterclass is an advanced, intensive preparation course designed for individuals aiming to achieve high band scores on the IELTS exam. It offers comprehensive training in the Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking modules, providing in-depth strategies, insights, and practice to help students excel.

2. How is the IELTS Masterclass different from other IELTS preparation courses?

The IELTS Masterclass goes beyond basic preparation. It provides personalised feedback, detailed instruction on advanced techniques, and extensive practice tests to simulate real test conditions. It is especially suited for those targeting higher band scores (e.g. 7.5 and above) and is delivered in a structured, expert-led format. Students have access to comprehensive study materials, including:

• In-depth lesson plans for all four modules.
• In-class practice examples
• Practice tests / mock exams coupled with model answers for reading and writing tests
• Personalised needs analysis from instructors.

Yes, the IELTS Masterclass is exclusively offered online. Lessons are delivered live via a virtual classroom, and all materials are accessed through a personalised online portal. This format provides flexibility and convenience for students anywhere in the world.

The IELTS Masterclass is ideal for: • Students who have an intermediate to advanced level of English. • Individuals who have taken the IELTS exam before but want to improve their scores. • Those aiming for a high band score for university admission, professional qualification, or migration purposes.

5. What is the duration of the course?

The course consists of 42 lessons for the Academic version and 38 lessons for the General Training version, which are typically completed over a five-day intensive schedule. Each lesson plan is designed to last at least 45 minutes, depending on the student’s grasp of the material.

6. What are the course objectives?

The IELTS Masterclass aims to familiarise students with the IELTS test structure, build key language skills, provide practice with real-world question types, and help students develop effective strategies for achieving their desired band scores.

7. How are lessons structured?

Lessons are organised into modules encompassing: Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking. Each module focuses on key question types and skills, such as essay writing, multiple-choice questions, task performance, and fluency. Lessons are interactive, with live instruction, practice tasks, and detailed feedback.

8. What study materials are provided?

Students will have digital access to comprehensive study materials, including: • In-depth lesson plans for each module accessible online - linked to your individual profile. • Homework for each lesson plan accessible online - linked to your individual profile • EWAP Workbooks containing: o Practice tests / mock exams coupled with model answers for reading, speaking and writing tests • Personalised needs analysis from instructors. • Additional resources: individual grammar homework based on needs analysis.

9. Will I receive feedback on my homework performance?

Yes, personalised feedback is a key component of the IELTS Masterclass. You will receive commentary on all four modules' homework exercises. Feedback is designed to not only help identify areas for improvement but also adjust your approach accordingly. Answers to all practice tests and written tasks are included in the In-class workbooks.

10. Is the IELTS Masterclass suitable for both Academic and General Training?

Yes, the Masterclass caters to both Academic and General Training IELTS test takers. The Writing module includes lessons tailored to the specific requirements of each version, ensuring that students receive relevant training for their chosen exam format.

11. How are the mock tests structured?

Mock tests are designed to simulate real IELTS exam conditions. You will have timed practice tests for each module, allowing you to familiarise yourself with the pressure and pacing of the actual exam. These tests are an integral part of the course and help to gauge your readiness.

12. Can I retake any part of the course if I feel unprepared?

No, you will have to re-register for the course. These courses are designed to be interactive and retaking a specific module may affect the overall effectiveness of your comprehension as a whole. We offer other options that may prove better suited to you should you still feel unprepared. Please click here for other options.
To retake specific modules or mock tests for students who feel they need additional practice before sitting the exam. You can discuss your needs with your instructor to determine the best course of action.

13. What happens if I miss a class?

Since this is an intensive course, attendance is important in order to receive your attendance certificate. However, all lesson plans are made available on your personalised online portal. You can review any missed lessons at your convenience. You will also receive homework for all lessons including the missed lessons. It is important to note that all access permissions will be removed within 24 hours of course completion.

14. Will I receive a certificate after completing the Masterclass?

The IELTS Masterclass is a preparation course and does not provide an official certification. You will however, receive a certificate of Attendance (candidate must attend all sessions to qualify). Upon completing the course you will be thoroughly prepared to take the IELTS exam and achieve a high band score.

15. How can I enrol in the IELTS Masterclass?

Pre-registration is a requisite. You can enrol through the EWAP website by selecting your preferred start date. Group sessions are available at specific times, and we recommend enrolling early to secure your spot as spaces are limited.

16. Are there any IELTS Masterclass pre-requisites?

Pre-registration is a requisite. Once payment is received in full, you will need to complete a proficiency test, prior to the commencement of the course. Upon receipt of payment, you will receive your login credentials via email.
A Needs analysis will be conducted. If you do not have the desired level for entry to the course, we will provide additional grammar material for you to improve your English, so that you may be admitted to the programme.
Ideally candidates will need a minimum B1/-Intermediate English language proficiency level.

17. What are the costs associated with the IELTS Masterclass Programme?

The cost of the course is $800 per participant. Please take note: We present courses only when a minimum of five paid candidates have been confirmed, hence course dates may change, or a course may be cancelled. In the unlikely event that the EWAY Connect cancels a scheduled IELTS Masterclass, you will be refunded in full.
